The newly appointed Board of Directors of the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania, led by Chairman Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Aloyce D. Mwanjile ndc, held its first meeting on March 18, 2025, at the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania conference hall in Mtwara to discuss various matters related to the cashew industry.
During the meeting, the Management presented a report on the implementation of the Board’s activities from July 2024 to March 2025, as well as the work plan for the fourth quarter, covering from April to June 2025.
Among the reports presented were updates on the implementation of the industrial park project in Maranje Village, Mtiniko Ward, Nanyamba Town Council, Mtwara Region; the renovation of the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania buildings for the 2024/2025 fiscal year; and the execution of the “Build a Better Tomorrow” (BBT) program for the cashew industry in the 2024/2025 period, among others.
Additionally, the Management was tasked with ensuring the effective supervision of the BBT Cashew program by guaranteeing that all cashew farming activities within the designated areas are properly executed. The program includes 500 agricultural officers stationed in Mtwara, Lindi, Ruvuma, Tanga, and Pwani regions. Recently, the Tanzania Cashew Board launched the distribution of motorcycles and tablets to these officers to enhance productivity.
The meeting, held at the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania conference hall, chaired by Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Aloyce Mwanjile ndc, alongside the Director General of the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania, Mr. Francis Alfred, the Board of Directors, Directors, Heads of Departments and Units, as well as representatives from all branches of the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania.
