The government of the United Republic of Tanzania, led by Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has planned to economically raise cashew farmers in the country.
This was said by the Deputy Secretary General (COOPERATION AND IRRIGATION) Dr. Suleiman Serera (left) during the session to discuss the cashew procurement system and auction procedure for the 2024/25 season on Friday September 13, 2024 at the cashew board hall in Mtwara -Tanzania.
He added that the government will continue to improve cashew farming in the country by providing the people with inputs and other agricultural needs and is also continuing its efforts to find investors.
Also on his part the director general of the cashew board in the country, Mr. Francis Alfred (right) has said that the cashew auctions are expected to start on October 11, 2024.
Mr. Alfred has said that he will cooperate closely with all cashew stakeholders and that any warehouse operator who does not follow the procedure will be taken action.
