743.57 BILLION SHILLINGS /= AVAILABLE FOR SALES OF CASHEW FOR THE 2024/2025 SEASON

While the cashewnut auctions in the 2024/2025 season continue, the Director General of the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania Mr. Francis Alfred When he was talking to journalists on 4 November 2024, he said that a total of Tsh 743.57 billion/= was obtained in four weeks of cashewnut auctions.

With more than 90 percent of the farmers having been paid their money, until now, the cashewnut prices in the ongoing auctions are good and the main reasons are mentioned as the good management of the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania and the quality of the cashewnut sold.

Various challenges including transport and payment have continued to be addressed closely where vehicles have been added to carry cashew from the primary associations to the main warehouse and farmers with payment challenges have been reminded to contact the leaders of AMCOS or the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania for further resolution.

Likewise, the Director General has worried the farmers that the exercise will be handled within this week and all payments due in the previous auctions, the leaders will ensure that the farmers are paid as soon as possible.
