The director General of Tanzania Cashew Board Mr. Francis Alfred has given clarification on the payment of cashew farmers in Tanzania to this season of 2024/2025.
Mr. Alfred has said that cashew buyers will pay to the major cooperatives within 5 days after the auction is held and the major associations are required to complete the payment to the farmers within 48 hours which is equal to 2 days so that the farmers get their sales money, so the farmer will get its payment 7 days after the auction is held.
The first cashew auction in the country for the 2024-2025 season is expected to be held on October 11, 2024 starting with the TANECU Central Cooperative Association.
