ASSESSMENT SESSION OF CASHEW PRODUCTION, MARKETS AND DISTINCTION FOR THE 2023/2024 SEASON

Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Hussein Bashe (Mb) has chaired the Conference on the Evaluation of Production, Sorting and Marketing of Cashew crops for the season of 2023/2024 and planning for the season of 2024/2025 at the PSSSF Hall, in Dodoma on April 22, 2024.

“We must change and change the systematic areas in order to increase the productivity of the cashew crop. Let’s add extension officers, seeds and better medicine to deal with blight disease; as well as buying excavators, bulldozers, and digging small ponds for the needs of farmers,” said Minister Bashe.

He has also received the report of the special Committee for the analysis of the Cashew Industry led by Chairman Chacha and pointed out that the Employees who have been identified for the embezzlement of public assets will be taken action in accordance with the law, regulations and procedures.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of State, Office of the President, Special Work House, George Mkuchika, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Hon. David Silinde (Mb), Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Gerald Mweli, Director General of the Cashew Board, Mr. Francis Alfred, Chairman of the Cashew Board, Brig. Gen. (retired) Aloyce D. Mwanjile, ndc; Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Livestock; Honorable Members of Parliament from Regions that grow cashews, farmers, traders and other stakeholders.
