CBT BOARD OF DIRECTORS URGED MANAGEMENT TO EFFECTIVELY OVERSEE THE CASHEW INDUSTRY

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania (CBT), retired Brig. Gen. Aloyce D. Mwanjile (ndc), has urged the CBT to continue supporting cashew processors, highlighting their significant role in the cashew value chain.

Additionally, Brig. Gen. Mwanjile (ndc) called on the CBT to intensify public education on the proper use of pesticides, the importance of a centralized database, and other matters related to the cashew industry especially through various media outlets, with a focus on community radio stations.

He made these remarks during the second meeting of the CBT Board of Directors held on July 11, 2025, at the CBT Conference Hall in Mtwara Region. The meeting brought together members of the Board of Directors and the CBT management team.

During the meeting, various reports were presented, including an update on the distribution of subsidized agricultural inputs for the 2025/2026 farming season, the implementation of the industrial park project in Maranje Village (including warehouse construction), preparations for registering transport companies for the 2025/2026 season, and several other key updates.
