The Councilors of the Rufiji District Council, have visited the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania to learn about the various activities that are carried out, including issues of inputs, agriculture, cashew processing and markets. During the visit, the Board of Councilors were able to obtain various information about the Cashewnut crop as well to learn the best way to increase the value of the crop, however the Director General of the Tanzania Cashewnut Board Mr. Francis Alfred asked the Honorable Councilors that the Board has requested an area in their district of Rufiji a total of 5,000 Temples where within those temples there will be large collective farms for the youth of Rufiji, the employees of the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania and the Chief Secretaries of all Ministries, so if the Board is granted that area then Rufiji will be one of the areas with big cashew farms inTanzania.
