TANZANIA GOVERNMENT TO CONTINUE PROVIDING FREE INPUT SUBSIDIES TO CASHEW FARMERS

The minister of Agriculture Hon. Hussein Bashe has said that the government will continue to provide input subsidies to cashew farmers in the country for free.

Bashe said this when he was talking to the people of Maranje village in Mtwara region on October 1, 2024 and that the government’s plan is to sell local cashews after they are shelled by 2026/2027.

He has also asked the cashew board through its Director General Mr. Francis Alfred to ensure that the project is completed on time and that in the next cashew season, three thousand tons of cashews are harvested at the Maranje factory.

And the Director General of the Tanzania Cashew Board. Francis Alfred has said that the project will generate approximately thirty thousand jobs by 2027 once the project is completed and added that it will benefit the people of Maranje and Tanzanians in general.
