MNOLELA FARMERS: EVER SINCE WE STARTED RECEIVING SUBSIDIZED FARM INPUTS, THINGS HAVE IMPROVED SIGNIFICANTLY

As the distribution of subsidized inputs for cashew farming continues across various growing regions in the country, farmers in Mnolela Ward, Mtwara Region, have expressed their appreciation to the Sixth Phase Government under the leadership of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan. They say that since they began receiving the inputs, there has been a significant improvement in production.

Hamis Mpinga, a farmer from Zingatia Village, expressed his gratitude to the government for delivering the inputs at the right time. “Since we started receiving these inputs, production has been going very well. We are truly encouraged by the work Mama Samia is doing, and I wish her continued leadership for another five years. She’ll definitely get my vote,” he said.

Uwesu Bin Said, a member of the Mnolela (AMCOS), added: “We have received the inputs, and this year we can confidently say the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania has increased the supply. The Mnolela AMCOS has six sub-branches, and previously, farmers struggled to travel to the headquarters to get inputs. But now, the inputs have been distributed to all areas, reaching the farmers where they are.”

Benjamin Mwasile, the Ward Agricultural Officer under “Building a Better Tomorrow program (BBT), noted that nearly all six villages in Mnolela Ward have received the subsidized inputs. He also emphasized that agricultural experts are actively addressing various challenges faced by farmers to ensure sustained productivity.
