THE ANNUAL GENERAL STAKEHOLDERS’ MEETING FOR YEAR 2025 HELD IN DODOMA

The Minister for Agriculture, Hon. Hussein Bashe, has called on various stakeholders to continue collaborating with the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania in effectively managing the cashew industry, including ensuring that starting from this season, BBT agricultural officers are present in primary cooperatives to oversee the collection of farmers’ cashew nuts.

In addition, Minister Bashe expressed his gratitude to the leaders of the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), and regional commissioners from cashew-producing regions for their continued cooperation with the government in properly overseeing the cashew industry, especially during times when systems are undergoing changes.

On his part, the Director General of the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania, Mr. Francis Alfred, stated that to ensure the quality of raw cashew nuts being transported, beginning this season, all transporters moving cashews from the main warehouses to the Mtwara port or to buyers’ warehouses located in Mtwara will be required to be registered and recognized by the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania.

These developments were highlighted during the National Cashew Stakeholders’ Meeting held on August 22, 2025, at Morena Hotel in Dodoma. The meeting was led by the Minister for Agriculture, Hon. Hussein M. Bashe, alongside the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Hon. David Silinde, and attended by various stakeholders including farmers, district commissioners, regional commissioners, CCM leaders, and representatives from different institutions.
