YOUTH AND WOMEN URGED TO ENGAGE IN CASHEW VALUE ADDITION ACTIVITIES

Youth and women from cashew producing regions in the country have been urged to actively engage in value addition activities related to the cashew crop in order to expand the scope of cashew utilization and its derived products.

This was said by the District Commissioner of Tandahimba in Mtwara Region, Colonel Michael Mtenjele, who was the guest of honor during the KOROSHO DAY, an event dedicated to tasting products derived from cashews. The event was held on August 5, 2025, at the Nane Nane exhibition grounds in Ngongo, Lindi Region.

In his remarks, Colonel Mtenjele also called upon the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania and the Agricultural Research Institute (TARI Naliendele), to ensure that Cashew Day is held annually to continue promoting the use of cashew products among the public and stakeholders across the country.

KOROSHO DAY is an annual event held at the Nane Nane exhibition grounds, on 5th August took place in Ngongo, Lindi Region and brought together staff from the Cashewnut Board of Tanzania led by the Acting Director General, Mr. Mangile Malegesi, along with various stakeholders from the cashew industry.
